Definition and treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD)
- Causes liver damage because a lot of fat is accumulated in the liver even when though alcohol has been hardly drunk
- Shows continuous elevation of hepatic enzyme values, and is common to the extent that enough that most cases where there is no history of alcohol intake and hepatitis B and hepatitis C have been serologically excluded correspond to NAFLD.
- Women account for 75% of the patients, the patients are obese, and 1/3 of the patients are diabetic
- Up to 30% of NAFLD progresses into hepatocirrhosis within 10 years UNIPla-DE
The treatment mechanisms of SUNIPla-N such as antifibrosis, glucose/lipid metabolism control, and antioxidant activity, were confirmed in preclinical animal models of metabolic hepatocirrhosis.
